A wafer-style butterfly valve sits between two flanges and uses through-bolts to clamp it in place. It is more compact and cost-effective for general isolation. A lug-style valve has threaded inserts (lugs) that allow it to be bolted directly to one flange, enabling downstream maintenance without shutting down the entire line. For dead-end service, lug type is recommended.
Yes. Our FDA 21 CFR 177 compliant valves feature 316L stainless steel body/disc with a PTFE or EPDM seat that meets FDA requirements. We also offer Ra ≤ 0.8 μm surface finish for CIP/SIP applications. A 3.1 material certificate and FDA declaration are included with every order.

SS304 is suitable for water, air, oil, and mild chemicals up to 80°C. SS316 offers better corrosion resistance against chlorides and acids. SS316L (low carbon) is preferred for welded components and high-temperature service. For highly corrosive media (H₂SO₄, HCl), we recommend 904L or PTFE-lined valves.
