Are Your Current Valves Putting Your Batch at Risk?

In hygienic processing, valve contamination is the #1 hidden cause of product recalls and batch rejections. Standard butterfly valves designed for water or oil cannot handle the rigorous demands of CIP/SIP cleaning, leaving dead legs and crevices where bacteria thrive.

🔴 High Scrap Rates
"We lost 2 entire batches of yogurt last quarter due to seal degradation – $180,000 in raw materials wasted."
🔴 Frequent Changeovers
"Each product switch requires 45 minutes of extra manual cleaning because our current valves don't drain fully."
🔴 Compliance Headaches
"Third-party auditors flagged our pipework 3 times this year for non-compliant valve materials."
🔴 Supply Chain Delays
"Standard lead times of 8–12 weeks from European suppliers leave us scrambling during peak season."

If any of these sound familiar, your selection of sanitary valves is costing you more than just money—it's eroding brand trust.

Thriveon SMS Butterfly Valve: Engineered for Cleanability & Compliance

Our SMS (Swedish Manufacturing Standard) butterfly valve is purpose-built for the strictest hygienic environments. Manufactured in our ISO 9001-certified facility in Northern China, each valve undergoes 100% pressure testing and surface roughness verification (Ra ≤ 0.8 µm).

✅ Full Drainability, Zero Dead Legs
Wetted parts are polished to Ra ≤ 0.6 µm. The disc opens fully to 90° with no recesses, allowing complete CIP/SIP fluid coverage. → Eliminate bacteria hotspots.
✅ FDA & 3-A Compliant Materials
Body and disc in AISI 304 / 316L (1.4408). EPDM or FKM sealing liners are FDA 21 CFR 177.2600 approved. No BPA, no phthalates. → Full material certs provided.
✅ High-Speed Delivery – 7 to 15 Days
Our vertically integrated foundry and machining center cut lead times by 60% vs. European alternatives. UPS / DHL expedited shipping to the USA. → Rush orders welcome.

Frequently Asked Questions About SMS Butterfly Valves

1. What does "SMS" stand for in an SMS butterfly valve?
SMS refers to the Swedish Manufacturing Standard (SMS 1145/1146). It is a widely used hygienic standard for dairy and food pipe fittings. An SMS butterfly valve is designed with specific end connections (threaded or clamp) and surface finish requirements for clean-in-place (CIP) systems.
2. Are your SMS valves compatible with my existing European piping system?
Yes. We manufacture both male and female SMS thread ends that conform to ISO 2852 / DIN 32676 compatibility. We can also supply adapter clamps to convert from SMS to DIN or Tri-Clamp (3A) fittings. Please share your pipe spec for a cross-reference drawing.
3. What is the minimum order quantity (MOQ) for standard sizes?
For DN25–DN100 SMS butterfly valves, the MOQ is 5 pieces per size for first-time buyers. For repeat orders or blanket orders, we can accommodate 1–2 pieces for urgent spares. We keep a buffer stock of popular sizes (DN50, DN65) for same-day dispatch.
4. Can you customize the liner material for high-temperature or aggressive chemicals?
Absolutely. Standard options include EPDM (food grade), FKM/Viton (chemical resistance), and silicone (high purity). We can also supply PTFE-lined discs upon request for highly aggressive fluids. Minimum order for custom liners is 20 pieces.
5. What payment methods and incoterms do you accept for US buyers?
We accept T/T wire transfer, L/C (at sight), and Western Union for smaller orders. For first orders under $5,000, we request 50% deposit / 50% before shipment. For repeat customers or larger orders, net 30 terms may be available after credit review. Incoterms: FOB Tianjin, CIF Los Angeles, or DDP (door-to-door) upon request.
6. How do you ensure quality before shipping? Do you provide third-party inspection?
Every SMS butterfly valve is 100% pressure tested (1.5x rated pressure) and seat leakage tested per API 598. We also offer optional SGS or BV third-party inspection at your cost (approx. $250–$400 per batch). Inspection reports are emailed within 48 hours of testing.
7. What is your warranty policy?
We provide a 24-month warranty from the date of shipment against manufacturing defects (material, workmanship, leakage). For liner degradation due to normal wear or chemical incompatibility, the warranty is 12 months. We will replace defective units or issue a credit note.
8. Can you supply actuators and control accessories for automated systems?
Yes. We offer pneumatic (double-acting, spring-return) and electric actuators with NAMUR mounting. Options include solenoid valves (ASCO, Norgren), limit switch boxes (mechanical or proximity), and positioners (4–20 mA, 0–10V). We can pre-assemble and factory test the entire unit.
