A double check valve assembly (DCVA) uses two independently operating check valves to prevent backflow under non-health-hazard (low to moderate hazard) conditions. An RPZ includes a differential pressure relief valve and is required for high-hazard (health hazard) applications. Most commercial fire and irrigation systems use DCVA.
