What is the main difference between a trunnion ball valve and a floating ball valve?

A trunnion ball valve has a fixed ball supported by bearings at the top and bottom, which absorbs the thrust from line pressure. This design reduces operating torque, prevents seat damage under high pressure, and provides bi-directional zero-leakage shut-off. Floating ball valves rely on the ball to be pushed against the downstream seat by pressure, which can cause high torque and seat wear at elevated pressures. Trunnion valves are the preferred choice for high-pressure, high-temperature, and large-diameter applications (above 2" / DN50 and Class 300+).

What certifications do your trunnion ball valves have for the US market?

Our trunnion ball valves are manufactured and tested to comply with API 6D (latest edition), ASME B16.34, API 598, and API 607 (fire-safe). We also offer NACE MR0175 / MR0103 compliance for sour service, ISO 15848-1 for fugitive emissions, and SIL 3 capability as required. All valves come with complete material traceability (MTRs) and can be third-party inspected by ABS, DNV, Lloyd's, or SGS.

Can you supply custom trunnion ball valves for high-temperature or cryogenic service?

Absolutely. We offer cryogenic trunnion ball valves with extended bonnets and low-temperature materials (LCB, LCC, CF8M) for service down to -196ยฐC, and high-temperature versions with metal seats and graphite seals for up to 600ยฐC. We also provide custom materials (Inconel, Hastelloy, Duplex), special coatings (Tungsten Carbide, Ceramic), and any end connection configuration.

What is your typical lead time for trunnion ball valves?

Standard lead time for sizes up to 24" / Class 600 is 25โ€“35 working days. Larger sizes (30"โ€“48") and higher pressure classes (Class 900โ€“2500) typically require 40โ€“55 working days. For urgent projects, we offer expedited production (18โ€“22 days) with a small surcharge. We also hold a limited stock of popular sizes (2"โ€“12" / Class 150โ€“600) for immediate shipment.

Do you offer actuator integration (pneumatic, electric, hydraulic) for your trunnion ball valves?

Yes. All our trunnion ball valves come with an ISO 5211 mounting pad as standard. We can supply complete valve + actuator packages with pneumatic (double-acting / spring-return), electric (on-off / modulating), or hydraulic actuators, along with solenoid valves, limit switches, positioners, and control panels. We also provide torque calculations and SIL-rated solutions.

How do you handle quality assurance and factory testing?

Every valve undergoes 100% inspection per API 598 / ISO 5208, including shell hydrostatic test, seat leakage test ( high-pressure and low-pressure ), and optional fugitive emission test (ISO 15848). We provide full MTRs, NDE reports (RT, UT, MT, PT), and a certified dimensional report. Third-party inspection (SGS, BV, ABS, DNV) is welcome at no extra cost for standard orders.
