PN6 indicates a nominal pressure rating of 6 bar (approximately 87 psi). It is the maximum allowable working pressure at standard temperature. Our PN6 butterfly valves are hydrostatically tested at 1.5× PN (9 bar) for shell integrity and 1.1× PN for seat leakage per ISO 5208.
Yes. When fitted with WRAS or NSF-approved EPDM liners, our PN6 butterfly valves are suitable for potable water applications. All liner material batch certificates are provided upon request.
A wafer-style valve is clamped between two pipe flanges, while a lug-style valve has threaded inserts that allow it to be bolted directly to flanges, enabling isolation on one side. Both are available in PN6 rating.
