Why Your Current Check Valve May Be Costing You Downtime & Rework

⚠️

Unreliable Backflow Protection

Standard check valves from budget suppliers often fail to seal properly after just a few hundred cycles. The result? Contaminated media, reverse flow damage, and unplanned shutdowns that can exceed $12,000/hour in lost production.

📏

Face-to-Face Dimension Errors

Knock-off valves frequently deviate from API 6D or EN 558 dimensions. A mismatch of even 1-2 mm during installation leads to flange bolt alignment issues, gasket leaks, and costly field adjustments — adding 3–6 extra labor hours per valve.

🔧

High Maintenance Frequency

Cheap materials (e.g., SG iron instead of ductile iron GGG40 or SS316) cause accelerated corrosion, spring fatigue, and seat wear. End users report replacing valves every 6–8 months instead of the expected 5+ year lifecycle.

📦

Hidden Shipping & Customs Costs

Low-cost suppliers often under-declare or use incorrect HS codes, leading to customs holds, penalties, and surprise tariffs. Some US buyers have faced additional charges of 15–25% on the PO value due to non-compliant documentation.

📄

Missing Compliance Documentation

Without certified material test reports (MTR), NPT traceability, or PMA data, valves are rejected at project commissioning. Engineering firms like Fluor, Bechtel, and KBR enforce strict supplier approval workflows — missing paperwork means losing the contract.

🌐

Poor Communication During Lead Time

Dealing with intermediaries or inexperienced exporters results in vague delivery dates, no production photos, and zero visibility on order status. You're left guessing, instead of confidently planning your project milestone.

These pain points are avoidable. Talk to our valve engineers and get a compliance checklist tailored to your next project.

Frequently Asked Questions — Wafer Style Check Valve

What is a wafer style check valve used for?
A wafer style check valve is installed between two flanges to allow flow in one direction and automatically prevent backflow. It is used in piping systems for water, oil, gas, steam, and chemicals where space is limited and low pressure drop is desired.
What is the difference between a wafer check valve and a dual plate check valve?
The terms are often used interchangeably. A dual plate check valve is a type of wafer check valve that uses two spring-loaded plates that fold open with forward flow and close when flow stops. Both have a compact wafer body. Our range includes single disc, dual plate, and silent (nozzle) designs depending on your application needs.
What are the pressure ratings available?
We offer wafer style check valves from Class 150 to 1500 (ASME) and PN10 to PN250 (EN). For higher pressure (Class 2500), please contact our engineering team to review your specific requirements.
Do you provide material test reports (MTR) with every valve?
Yes. All our pressure-containing parts come with EN 10204 Type 3.1 MTR as standard. Type 3.2 (third-party witnessed) is available upon request. We also retain samples for 10 years for traceability.
Can I get a custom face-to-face dimension for a retrofit project?
Absolutely. We have produced valves with non-standard face-to-face dimensions for numerous retrofit projects in refineries and chemical plants. Share your current valve drawing or required dimension, and our engineers will confirm feasibility — typically within 48 hours.
What is your typical lead time for orders to the USA?
For standard sizes (DN50–DN300 / 2"–12"), lead time is 14–25 working days from order confirmation (after receiving deposit and approved drawing). For larger sizes or special materials, allow 25–40 working days. We also offer an Express Line that delivers in 7–10 working days for select configurations.
How are valves shipped, and do you handle customs documentation?
We ship via sea or air based on your preference. Our logistics team prepares all export documentation: commercial invoice, packing list, certificate of origin, bill of lading, and any required test reports. We use correct HS codes and declared values, so your customs clearance is smooth. Many US buyers use our DDP (Delivered Duty Paid) service for a seamless experience.
What payment terms do you accept?
We accept T/T (telegraphic transfer) with 30% deposit and 70% against copy of shipping documents. For established relationships or larger orders, we can discuss L/C at sight or negotiable terms. PayPal and credit card are also possible for small sample orders (under USD 1,000).
Can I order a sample before bulk production?
Yes. Sample orders are welcome. We charge the actual production cost plus shipping, and we refund the sample cost when you place a standard production order (minimum 50 pcs). Sample lead time: 7–15 working days.
What warranty do you offer?
We provide a 18-month warranty from the date of shipment (or 12 months after installation, whichever comes first) against manufacturing defects in materials and workmanship. This covers free replacement or repair. Our warranty record is 99.2% claim-free over the last 3 years.
