A wafer style valve is sandwiched between two flanges and relies on both flanges for support. It cannot be used at the end of a pipeline. A lug style valve has threaded inserts (lugs) on the body, allowing it to be bolted directly to one flange while the other side is open. This enables dead-end service, meaning you can isolate downstream piping for maintenance without shutting down the entire upstream system. This is critical for pump isolation and tank battery applications.

For standard ductile iron bodies and EPDM seats (2"-24"), our typical lead time is 45-60 days from order confirmation and deposit. For larger sizes (30"+) or specialized alloys (SS316, Duplex), lead time is 60-90 days. We offer expedited production (30 days) for stock sizes and standard materials. We can also arrange air freight for urgent emergency orders.
