A full port (full bore) 1/2″ ball valve has a ball opening equal to the pipe inner diameter, minimizing pressure drop. Reduced port valves have a smaller ball opening, which can restrict flow by 30-50%. We recommend full port for most applications to maintain flow efficiency.
Yes, but only with appropriate seat material. Our standard PTFE seats are suitable for steam up to 180°C. For higher temperature steam (up to 250°C), we recommend PPL (carbon-fiber reinforced PTFE) seats. Please specify operating conditions when ordering.
