For agricultural/commercial irrigation, a Reduced Pressure Zone (RPZ) valve (ASSE 1013) is typically required if there is a risk of chemical backflow. For lower-risk applications, a Double Check Valve Assembly (DCVA) or Pressure Vacuum Breaker (PVB) may be acceptable. Always check local code – many US counties mandate RPZ for farms using fertilizers or pesticides.
