API 600 covers bolted bonnet gate valves for sizes 4″ and above, with heavy wall thickness and advanced seat design. API 602 is for smaller forged gate valves (≤ 4″). For high-pressure lines where reliability is critical, API 600 is the standard specification for carbon steel and alloy steel gate valves.
